Remembering Mack Hurlan Cranford "Uncle Mack"

June 7, 1923 ~ July 22, 2016

Mr Mack Hurlan Cranford, age 93 of Forest Park Drive, Denton, NC died Friday, July 22 at Mountain Vista Health Park.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 25 at Central United Methodist Church. The Rev. Warren Miller and Rev. Benny Clodfelter will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Denton Town Cemetery.

The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Sunday at Briggs Funeral Home.

Mr. Cranford was born June 7, 1923 in Davidson County to John Filmore Cranford and Troy Adderton Cranford. He was a graduate of Denton High School. He retired as sales manager of Yadkin Valley Chevrolet in Denton. He was a veteran of the U S Army Air Corp. He was an active member of Central United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and had been on a number of mission trips with the Church. He was a member and past president of the Denton Lions Club and and was named Lion of the Year for 2015. He was a leader of the Lexington Chapter of Compassionate Friends. He had volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the Adopt a Highway program. He was married to Hilda Johnson Cranford who died August 3, 2011. He was also preceded in death by a son Rodney Cranford, by brothers Wid, Carlie, Bob, John and Joe and by sisters, Tula, Beatrice, Sadie, Violet, Annie and Marjorie.

He is survived by a daughter Sharon Beal and husband Curtis of Charlotte; grandchildren, Amanda Brookbank and husband David, Heath Cranford and wife Lisa and Mereth Alexander and husband Curtis; great grandchildren, John, Maddie Grace, Lily and Leeza.
