Jacob Schmidt and wife Barbara are listed as having a daughter Frena born 19 November 1822 and baptized 8 May 1823, sponsored by Henri Krack, in The Parish Register, St. Michael's (Wildfang's) Church, Pendleton County, Virginia (W.Va.), VOLUME I, 1807 - 1881, translated and transcribed by George M. Smith (designated p. 22). Jacob and Barbara are listed as having son Johannes born 3 September 1824, baptized 17 October 1824 (The Parish Register, St. Michael's ..., designated p. 23). However, Jonathan listed above, age 20, in 1850 is the closest match while Johannes would have been 26 in 1850. So, what's the answer? Later in the church register (designated p. 39), Jacob and Barbara Schmidt are listed as having a son "Jonatan" born 17 June 1830 and baptized 28 August 1830 with the parents themselves as sponsors. This matches the above census data. Perhaps Jonathan had an older brother named Johannes who was deceased in 1850? "Barrara Smidt" is listed as a sponsor to George and Elizabeth Warner's Child Acmish born 5 June 1829 (The Parish Register, St. Michael's ..., designated p. 39). Jacob and Barbara "Shmidt" are listed as having a son Daniel born 15 February 1832, baptized 14 April 1832, parents as sponsors (The Parish Register, St. Michael's ..., designated p. 43). This matches Daniel in the census data above, age 17 in 1850 (though he would have turned 18 that year).
In 1850, Jacob owned 2 slaves, a female age 21 and a male age 20 (source: 1850 US Census Slave Schedule ). In 1860, Jacob had a female slave age 35 (source: 1860 US Census Slave Schedule).

USGenWeb Births lists Catherine Smith born to SMITH, "Christian/Susan Crummitt" in 1837.
"Christian Shmidt" and wife Susanna are listed as having daughter "Rebecca Ann(e)" born 14 December 1831 and baptized 14 April 1832 with Susanna Hoover as sponsor. The wife Susanna (not Hoover who was the sponsor; the wife Susanna was "Susan Crummitt" according to USGenWeb) corresponds with Susan above (The Parish Register, St. Michael's ..., designated p. 43). However, there is no Rebecca Anne. Was she deceased in 1850?

Heinrich Schmidt was a communicant during the Holy Communion held by Pastor Braun 22 October 1815 at Saint Michael's (Wildfang's) Church in Pendleton County, VA (WV) (The Parish Register, St. Michael's (Wildfang's) Church, Pendleton County, Virginia (W.Va.), VOLUME I, 1807 - 1881, translated and transcribed by George M. Smith, designated p. 10). Heinrich Schmidt is listed as the godfather of George Werner's daughter Catharina born 21 April 1819 and baptized 13 June 1819 (The Parish Register, St. Michael's..., designated p. 18). "Henr: Schmidt and his wife" are listed as sponsors of "Mich: Lamm's daughter Christina born 20 August 1822 (The Parish Register, St. Michael's..., designated p. 22). "Henrich Schmidt" and wife "Eliesabeth" are listed as having a son Martin born 16 August 1830, baptized 19 September 1830, sponsor Febere Bauers (The Parish Register, St. Michael's ..., designated p. 39). However, Martin is not listed among the children above. Was he deceased in 1850? Heinrich and Eliesabeth Shmidt are listed as having a son George AMish born 21 February 1834 and baptized 20 April 1834 with parents as sponsors (The Parish Register, St. Michael's ..., designated p. 44). This matches George A. Smith, age 16 in 1850, in the above census data. Henry and Elisabeth Smith are listed as having a son Valentine born 7 April 1836 and baptized 1 November 1836 with parents as sponsors (The Parish Register, St. Michael's ..., designated p. 48). Valentine corresponds with Felty Smith, male, age 14 in 1850 in the above census data. And fellow researcher Karl Kiser indicates that Felty was a nickname for Valentine in the Kiser family. So between that fact and the age, it is safe to assume Felty Smith is Valentine Smith.
In 1860, Henry had 3 slaves: 1 mulatto female age 63, 1 female age 25 and 1 male age 21 (source: 1860 US Census Slave Schedule).

Daniel married Magdalene "Mary" Bowers 12 January 1828 (sources: WVCulture and USGenWeb, the latter which lists here as "Molly").

USGenWeb Births lists Peter Harrison Smith born "March 30, 1836", to Smith, "Daniel/Molly Powers" (typograpical error - should be Bowers), lists Daniel Smith born 1842 to Smith, "Daniel/Magdalene Bowers" (which would be off by 2 years from the above census data), lists "Delilah" born 1831 to Smith, "Daniel/Magdalene Bowers" (again off by 2 years compared to census data above).
On page 39 designated in The Parish Register, St. Michael's (Wildfang's) Church, Pendleton County, Virginia (W.Va.), VOLUME I, 1807 - 1881, translated and transcribed by George M. Smith, the text shows a "Daneil Smidt" married to Maria Magdalena and them having a daughter Delila born 10 February 1829, baptized 19 April 1829, sponsors Benjamin Bauers and Elizabeth Hoover. Meanwhile above, it shows Daniel married Magdalene "Mary" Bowers 12 January 1828, just one year before Delila's birth and the 1850 census information shows her listed as the first born, age 21. On page 42 designated in the register, "Danil Smith" (notice the post 1831 change from Schmidt to Smith in effect) and wife Magdalena had a daughter Maria Anna born 22 February 1831, baptized 26 June 1831, John Bowers and Wife sponsors. Magdalena corresponds with Magdalene listed above. Maria Anna corresponds with Mary A. above, age 19 in 1850, and her birth is 1831, the year the Schmidt surname was changed to Smith and that surname is now used by her father. Daniel and Magdalena Smith are listed as having a son Peter Harrison born 30 March 1836 and baptized 1 November 1836 with parents as sponsors (The Parish Register, St. Michael's ..., designated p. 48). Again, this matches up with the above census data with Peter H. being 14 in 1850. So, Daniel Smith is clearley the Daniel Schmidt in the register.

On page 50 designated in The Parish Register, St. Michael's (Wildfang's) Church, Pendleton County, Virginia (W.Va.), VOLUME I, 1807 - 1881, translated and transcribed by George M. Smith, It shows John Smith's daughter Eliza baptized 12 November 1837. Is this the same John Smith? Eliza's birthdate is be 3 years after John's marriage to Jane Jordan. So, it is feasible that this is the same John. Who are the children of John and Jane (Jordan) Smith? John and Jane Smith are listed as having a son William Addison born 29 December 1835 and baptized 1 November 1836, with parents as sponsors (The Parish Register, St. Michael's ..., designated p. 48).
