Capt. Nicholas Martiau had been long in England when Henry, fifth Earl of Huntington, sent him to Virginia in the year 1620 (The Huguenot Ancestor of George Washington) and he arrived aboard the ship Francis Bonaventure on May 11 that year (WikiTree). He was a French Walloon, who was the first to patent the site of Yorktown, VA, and to represent Kent Island, York and Chiskiack in the House of Burgesses ("Reade Family" The William and Mary College Quarterly Historical Magazine..., Kentucky Genealogy Research). Martiau was the earliest Virginia ancestor of George Washington (Kentucky Genealogy Research). Washington is descended from Marinau's daughter Elizabeth Reade below (The Huguenot Ancestor of George Washington).

Jane
Possibly the Jane who was widow of Lt. Edward Berkeley who came to Virginia in the ship Seaflower in February 1621/2 (Kentucky Genealogy Research, WikiTree).

George and Elizabeth (Martiau) Reade are the common ancestors I share with George Washington, Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III (formerly Prince Charles of Windsor) who all descend from George and Elizabeth (Martiau) Reade's daughter Mildred.
