- Ralph Beaver Strassburger, Pennsylvania German Pioneers (Pennsylvania German Society. Norristown, PA. 1934.), LDS Family History Library, Salt Lake City, UT, pg. 402. "The Foreigners whose names are underwritten, imported in the Ship Edinburgh, James Russel, Master, from Rotterdam, but last from Portsmouth in England, did this day take the usual Oaths to the Government. By list 163. 360 whole Freights, from the Palatinate." Among the listed passengers is "Nicklas ( X ) Biedman", the ( X ) signifying that he signed by a mark. Others listed included Philipp Peter Becker, Johann Jacob Becker. Susannah Crabill | Susanna Crabill, daughter of Christian, married Johann Philipp Bittman (Philip Pitman) and lived on the old Baker homestead along North Mountain about 2 miles north west of Strasburg, VA.She died 1 Feb. 1821 and is buried on the homestead,with Philip,who died 1 May 1820.They had four children: Emanuel, David, Jonathan and Abraham. Susanna had two brothers Abraham (never married) and Jonas. She also had a sister Rachel who never married.
