Nance researcher Sonia Nance-Roberts shared images from a November 1858 court petition from Elizabeth Hubbard Nance. Elizabeth was widowed and her son-in-law John Keerans (husband of Anna Nance Keerans) was co-administrator of her late husband's (Hudson Nance) estate. However, John died in 1858 before the matters of the estate were settled. It was found that upon John's death, his children "made a more liberal provision for his widow than she was entitled" and thus the petition to the court ensued.
